Blackout Poetry....Great Fun

It's easy and so much fun.
Find an old book, choose a page, select words to reflect your feelings...ideas..thoughts.  Black out all the other words.  Let your imagination run wild with ways to black out the other words....the sky is the limit.

  1. I saw some examples in the FB group and really liked it, and these are so beautiful too! I was wondering what pen you use, especially in an old book, I was concerned that the ink would spread, and I imagine it bleeds through to the other side, so I would need to put a piece of scratch paper underneath.

  2. Hi Brenda, I used a combination of Mircrons....the larger nibs..05,08. I also used a Zig Marker (scrapbook stores carry them) it has a small nib and large nib. Sharpies of all sizes. The ink will bleed thru (especially sharpies) so I take the page out before I start working on it. I find it easier to turn one page than the whole book. I haven't had too much trouble with the ink spreading too far from where I put it. But the books I've used so far haven't been all that old. Thanks for visiting my blog. Have fun with this art form, it's a blast.
